Show Us Where You Live Friday (Guest Room)

Okay, so I was not going to show my guest room because it is SO bare!! Literally, there is nothing at all on the walls, as you can see. Matter of fact, there is nothing on the walls on any of my upstairs rooms, except the bonus room and that's pretty bare, too. I am just not upstairs much so out of site, out of mind, I guess. Anyway, this house has had a lot to update and I haven't done much but this room was the first room we did something with. There was early 90's Waverly wallpaper all over the wall and while I would have LOVED this room when Macy was 2, it's just not my taste anymore.
We painted over the wallpaper and while it would have been better to take down the wallpaper, we just wanted quick and easy and it did the job! We sprayed that orange peel spray over the walls to try to hide the wallpaper seams and border that may have shown through......didn't work but that's okay...nobody really notices unless I point it out. :)
The chest-o-drawers were in Macy's room at our other house and she had written all over the mirror with dry erase markers so that's what the green is on the mirror. :)
What do you do when you have a bare room to liven it up a little?! You have your Golden Retriever pose for the picture to warm it up. :)

I didn't even know that pink chair was in the corner until I went up there a few weeks ago. I don't know who brought it up there or how it got there. It was downstairs in the storage area the last time I saw it. That chair was my grandmother, Ree's. I want to get it recovered. I guess I'll add that to the long list. :)
Happy Friday, y'all!!!

Awesome bed! And, I don't think my kids pose as well for a picture as that adorable dog of yours!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
