Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth.
I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!! I love that doggy in the window, too! :)
We added Christmas trees to the sides of the door. I love it that nobody can see in my windows now! I wish I could leave these up all year long.
Christmas lights outside the house.
Got new stockings this year and added a little Christmas tree beside the fireplace. I also added red curly sticks to my floral pieces (Hope's suggestion).
I left Hope at my house for about an hour while I went walking with a friend and when I came back, she was finished with the garland and had decorated another piece of garland and put it on my staircase.  She is such a sweet person. I love her and am thankful that God put her in my life. She is a new friend and a blessing!
I always put candy in this candle holder...all year round..at Christmas time, I've got Christmas candy in there. :)
Our stockings. :) I have wanted these for years but never ordered them but this year, I finally did! They were on sale at Ballard Design and I'm having a few Christmas parties at my house this year so I decided I'd go for it! :) They make me happy when I look at them. :)
We mailed Trey's stockings to his family.
I loved these curlies! They are on the sides of the garland.
The garland that Hope put on my staircase. :) I love seeing the lit up garland and trees on the front door from the inside of the house.
My mom gave me these decorations years ago when we lived in Monroe. She drove down to help me decorate my house for Christmas which was so sweet of her.
Our Christmas tree in the office.
Before we hung the curtains that I should have hung 4 years ago. :s

I think the kitchen table is fun and whimsical. :)
I just use cute Christmas paper plates to decorate the table.
Garland on banister.
Plate holder in dining room.
Hope added bows and ornaments to my chairs in the dining room, too. :) SO cute and fun!
My mom bought me this nativity the same year that she came and decorated my house.  I love it! I think it is so beautiful!
Dining room table
Hope also suggested putting ornaments in my candle holders.  There are also some gold glittery pine cones in there.

I want to keep up my Christmas decorations all year long.  My house is going to seem so bare when all these decorations are gone but I bet Hope will have some suggestions.

Merry Merry Christmas everybody!!!
Jesus is the reason for the season!!!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
