My mom is doing so much better!!! She is home now and healing. We are so thankful! Here she is with Rosebud the day she got home from the hospital. She gave Rosie a present for her homecoming. :) People have been so nice...they have prayed, brought tons of food, sent cards, etc. It feels so good to see people love the way people have loved my family through this.

Mar and I went to the Love and Respect video conference at our church this weekend. It was GREAT!!! We've read the book and it was really good but the conference was even better. Emerson Eggerich is a really talented and entertaining speaker. We really enjoyed it! Hannah and Justin went, too, which was fun. I did, however, leave early to do this:

Eat lunch with friends from junior high and high school. :) It was fun to see everyone! At one point, Kendra and Darcy were talking about pilates and they said that while people are in Pilates class, they have gas a lot!!! :) I thought they were kidding but they weren't. They said that everyone who takes Pilates knows this and that people in class just expect it. Kendra said that her friend said to her, "Okay, if you pass gas while you're doing this, don't be embarrassed, it's only natural". HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still laughing thinking of this. I knew Lamar would LOVE hearing this and he laughed hysterically, too. I can only imagine!!! I have really wanted to do a Pilates class but now I'm not so sure!!!

Guess what I finished today???!!!! I finished reading the whole Bible!!! It took my 2 years but I did it!!! I only missed 2 days in the last two years. I don't want to sound like I'm tooting my own horn but this is HUGE for me!!! I have never read the whole Bible even though I have said I was going to a few times. This time I really did it!!! I didn't put a time limit on myself and just went at my own pace so there was no pressure. I also read a lot of the commentary at the bottom so that took longer but I get so much more out of it when I read that. I read the NLT Life Application Study Bible. Now I get to start again. Maybe it won't take me 2 years this time but if it does, that's okay. Well, I'm off to bed! More later!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
