Thankful Thursday

Got this idea from my blog friend, Marlo. It's Thankful Thursday!!! :) Love this idea!

I'm VERY thankful for rainbows! Everytime I see a rainbow, I feel like God is just shouting how much he loves us...how creative to give us something beautiful to remind us of a promise. I'm also thankful for my sweet nieces who are in this picture. AND...I'm thankful for my sister, Hannah, who took this picture.

Oh how thankful I am for this precious girl who will be 18 in less than a week! This has always been one of my very favorite pictures of May May....look at those cute piggy toes! I also love the band-aid and painted nails (you may not be able to see the painted nails in this picture but I have a framed 8x10 of this right above me so I can see the small details). :)

And, I am SO thankful for this little sunshine!!! God blessed my socks off when He put Rosie Love in my life. God moved us back to LR just in time to be a big part of this little one's life. I call her my bright spot because I tell ya, this little girl brings LOADS of joy!!! She also brings lots and lots of laughs!! Yesterday, we (Hannah and I) took her shopping and she entertained us the whole time. I got her some new pink sequin shoes and they made noise when she walked on a hard floor so she started tap dancing in this one shoe store. Rosie kept saying that she was a little girl so she dances. Hannah told her that some boys dance, too, and she said, "Well, I'm a girl and THIS girl dances!" pointing to herself. HAAAA!!! :) Precious and SO girly!!!

Super super thankful for this man!!! Whoa....talk about God having grace on me when He gave me Lamar. It is so wonderful to be loved and this man loves me and he loves me well. I could go on and on and on but I can get pretty ooey gooey about Lamar and have many times before on here. :) I love him!!!!

I am also thankful for my Thursday morning Bible study where we are studying the Psalms of Ascent. The video this morning was so good...such a blessing! Our small group afterwards is really good, too, and we have the kindest leader with a great heart.
I've got a lot more things I am thankful for (like my loyal furry friend who is at my feet right now) but I'll save those for next Thursday. Mar's almost home from work so I need to wrap this up.

This is so good, love all the pics. God is good, and Thankful Thursdays help me remember that and keep things in perspective. You are awesome Heather, I am so thankful for blogs, which is how I originally met you. Marlo

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
