Family Day at the Zoo

Right now I'm on the exercise bike and thought I would try blogging on my phone. I ate a ton of Hershey eggs (like half a bag) and so even though it's almost midnight, I HAD to come up here and try to burn some of those calories off! I am SOOOOOO glad Hershey eggs aren't sold year round!

A bunch of people in my family went to the zoo today and I'm telling ya, it was the most gorgeous day!!! Just perfect weather! It was sunny, breezy, and 71 degrees. It was also packed!!! It rained all day yesterday and it's Spring Break for most people, so lots of people wanted to go to the zoo today. I was so glad to be able to find a parking place. I drove around for awhile before I saw someone leave. Isn't my mom's hat so cute in this pix! I love it! I like it that my mom is always so fashionable!

My little Sunshine and Moo. I love that he's reaching for me. :) He is the sweetest little boy. He is going through a stage right now, though. He's almost 2 and kinda testing the waters a little bit. :)
I wore my favorite cardigan today over my shirt just in case I got chilly. Well, when I got warm, I took it off and hung it over my purse. A little later in the afternoon, I noticed my sweater was no longer on my purse. I had a black sweater just like my yellow one that I wore all the time and left it in the Cheesecake Factory in Omaha, NE. of all places. I tell ya, though, if I had to leave my favorite sweater somewhere, it might as well have been in the Cheesecake Factory, my favorite restaurant. :) I have missed that sweater, though, and tried to find one just as great with no luck. The good thing is when i bought my favorite black sweater, I also bought a yellow one....the one that I lost today. I never lose my clothes, either, so it's so crazy that I keep losing my favorite sweaters! I thought I would never find it today and almost didn't even retrace my steps. I figured it fell off my purse (which it did) and that someone probably took it. I went ahead and backtracked though and lo and behold, right by the Porta Potties on top of the trash can was my bright yellow sweater!!! I was so excited even being the germ phobe that I am!!! I quickly grabbed it with my pinky, trying as hard as I could not to get germs or pollen on me and tucked my sweater in my mom's bag. :) I was so thankful that a hand washing station was close by! Whoever came up with that is a genius in my book!!! And I thanked the Lord that my last favorite sweater is still with me. :)

Well, it's time for me to get off this bike. I've found a new way to pass the time while exercising...blogging!!! Yay! :)

More later! Happy almost weekend!!!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
