Rosie's gone. :(

Well, the dreaded day is here. Rosie has moved to Springdale. We (me, Mar, mom, and dad) helped Hannah and Justin move up there last weekend. Hannah and Rosie ended up driving back with us, though, because Hannah's close friend was having a baby. They left about 2 1/2 hours ago. It was really hard to see them go. Mar and I are beyond attached to our precious little Rosie Love. Mar always says, "She sure does make me feel good". It's because she runs into your arms and shouts for joy when she hears you walk in the house. Today, when I got her up from her nap the first things she said to me was, "Mar's not here". She knew he was at the office. He came to say goodbye at lunch and when he walked in and called her name, she said with so much excitement, "I'm comin'" and came running into Lamar's arms. She's just such a bright spot...such a complete joy. Mom explained to her that she was going to her new house and we had to stay here and we wouldn't see her for awhile. I think she understood because after she got in the car she started crying and saying "Hadoo, Hadoo". She didn't want me to close the door after I put her in her carseat and she gave me Bear and Paci because she knew she couldn't leave if I had her Bear and paci. It broke my car. By the time they were out of the driveway she had quit crying and started reading her books to Bear so that made me feel better. Lamar and I were both crying. Lamar told me that it had been a long time since he had cried over anyone other than me. Hmmm...I don't know if I should feel good or bad about that.
Rosie Love was not a happy camper before they left. She couldn't find "paci". Mar saved the day and went and got it out of Hannah's car and then she was okay. She LOVES her Bear and sniffs him....she has Mar sniff him, too. :)
Here they are both sniffing Bear. :)

Lamar and I told Rosie about bones last night. Lamar broke his foot when he was 16 and one of his feet has a bone that sticks way out so we showed it to Rosie and explained bones to her. Here's Mar today pointing to the bones in his arms. She thinks Bear has bones, too. :)

I am so thankful that God blessed us with Rosie...a special joy in our lives. We'll miss seeing her every day but we'll always love her and have a very special bond with her. We'll be making lots of trips up to Springdale...that's for sure!!!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
