Bye Bye 335

Tonight is Mom and Dad's last night in their house...their house of 31 years....the house I grew up in. I've had time for their move to sink in so I'm okay. Their new house is really pretty. It's not even a year old so everything is new and fun. It smells great, too! It's hard to believe that tonight is their last night in their house. The new owners aren't moving in until Tuesday so I'll probably go by Monday and say goodbye one last time. I've been swimming in the pool like crazy lately, which isn't usually like me but I wanted to get in a few last swims while I still had the chance. Tomorrow is Hannah's birthday. She'll be 29. We won't celebrate until next week since tomorrow is moving day. I had a horrible dream last night. Just horrible! Too horrible to write about. When I woke up and told Lamar, he had the same dream!!! We don't watch TV so it was nothing violent that we saw there. Who knows but it was a little freaky that we both had the same horrible bizarre dream. Dad had to go to the emergency room on Thursday. His heart was racing. When they did the EKG they found out that he has something where he has to be on medication the rest of his life. If his heart ever does what it did on Thursday again, it could kill him or he could have a stroke. My dad is the healthiest person known to man so if he ever died of a heart attack, there would be no hope for any of us. He seriously eats the weirdest things you've ever seen!!! He doesn't put any fat into his body unless it's peanuts...the healthy kind of fat. He only eats fruits and vegetables and seriously never eats anything unhealthy....EVER. I would rather enjoy chocolate and sweets and die a few years earlier, I think. :) Church is tomorrow so I better head to bed. More later. :)

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
