Maternity Jeans Rock!!! :)

I have always hated wearing jeans. I mean ALWAYS hated wearing them. When I was little, I never wanted to put them on and as I got older, I still hated them. I love the look of jeans but the bottom line for me is that they have always been extremely uncomfortable. Through the years, I've discovered that the reason they are so uncomfortable is the thick fabric around my waist or hips. I always get pains in my stomach from that. I wore dresses to school until 6th grade and then had a skirt uniform after that. I even got in trouble once because I didn't wear jeans on a field trip (a whole other story). I do wear jeans some but I am never comfortable wearing them. Anyway, all of this to say I was reading this girls' blog (Kelly's Korner) awhile back and she talked about how she always hated wearing jeans, which is just like me, and now that she's pregnant, she has discovered how great maternity jeans are. She had a picture posted with her maternity jeans on and she didn't look the least bit pregnant. So, I started thinking, "If she can wear maternity jeans and she's smaller than me, then they may actually work for me, even though I'm not pregnant". After looking at them online and discovering that maternity jeans have a whole new look since I was pregnant (18 years ago), I decided that I would try them out. I went to a maternity store in town but was too embarrassed to try them on so I just ordered some on e-bay and I just have to say ..... I LOVE THEM!!!! I wore them for the first time a couple of nights ago to Macy's senior class meeting and never had a stomach pain!!! Also, they actually fit my body! My legs have always been smaller than my belly so I've always had to buy jeans that are too big on my booty and legs to fit my stomach...problem is now solved and I don't think I will ever go back to regular jeans!!! Here's a picture of my new found love. :)

Now look at these jeans! Do these look like maternity jeans to you? There's only about 3 inches of cotton at the top...I'll tell ya what...I've found the jeans for me!!!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
