My Cup Runneth Over

Oh my goodness, I just had to write down the things Rosie said tonight because she is just so unbelievably cute and precious! Okay, first of all, we went upstairs for her to dance in the dance/exercise room that is almost finished. I was talking about how I need to vacuum the stairs because there are little pieces of insulation on the stairs. Then, Mar and Rosie danced and played in the room. Well, I went downstairs for a few minutes to load some pictures on the computer. Rosie followed a few minutes later and walked up to me with little pieces of insulation in her hand and said, "Hadoo, I picked these up off the stairs because I know you want it clean". Okay, she is 3 YEARS OLD and thinking about my feelings. I felt SO good!!! I told her how precious she was and to give me a big hug. Then she told me she did the best job she could and that next time she would pick even more up!!! I don't have one clean person in my house...not even one so this was a new and wonderful feeling for me. I was like, "Lamar, someone cares about my feelings over the house being clean!!!!". Then, she follows Mar into the kitchen and I hear her say, "Mar, you're the BEST! I love being with you". I thought my heart was going to melt right then and there. Mar came in and looked at me and repeated what she said. I told him I heard it and I asked what he thought about that and he said, "I was just a puddle on the floor". Then, Hannah came to pick Rosebud up and she cried because she didn't want to go home (her and Mar were dancing in the dance room again). When we walked her outside she looked at her mommy and said, "I have loved this night and I don't want to go home." We all looked at each other and smiled with joy in our hearts. Of course, what child would want to go back to their parents house when they get chocolate for dinner, get to watch the Jungle Book, get to dance with mirrors, and have all the attention on them!! :) Since I'm the aunt, my job is to spoil!!! Of course, with Macy, it was a whole different story because I'm her mom. I have to say that it is so much fun to spoil!!! I LOVE BEING AN AUNT!!!

I love this baby girl!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
