Life's a Beach!

We just got back from the beach last night! It was a wonderful vacation. I love my life here but I could seriously live at the beach. I just LOVE it there, especially in September when it's cooler and less crowded. There were so many times when I went out on the balcony and just had this incredible peace and thankfulness to God.....the cool breeze blowing, listening to great music on my iPod, watching God's glorious ocean, seeing the birds fly by. It's hard to leave that. I tell ya, though, on the way back home, I couldn't get home quick enough...I was so anxious to see Rosie Love!!! :) After 11 hours in the car, it was GREAT to be back. I can't wait to go again, though.

Kathryn met us there and spent 2 days with us. What a blessing that sweet girl is! I want to be like her.

LOVE this towel wrap!!! I have been wanting it since I saw it on an e-mail Bath and Body Works sent me. I even went to B&BW to look for it but they didn't have it. I was planing on ordering it online but hadn't yet. We stopped at the Watermelon Patch at a town about 30 miles from Hattiesberg (I was thinking that was the big Watermelon Patch my friend had told me about) and there was the towel wrap I've been wanting. Isn't it CUTE?! I love it!!! I love the cute ruffle at the bottom. We ended up going to the huge Watermelon Patch (cute store!) in Hattiesburg and they didn't have my towel so I'm glad we stopped at the little one.

I LOVE the beach!!!

I'll write more later about our whole beach vacation. I don't have time now because I've got BUNCO tonight!!! YAY!!! I absolutely love Bunco! Great food, great friends, great fun, and great gifts to the winners! :) We had our first Esther Bible study this morning. I love those Beth Moore videos so much....she makes me laugh so hard and she so obviously adores the Lord. I'm so thankful that God has given her such a gift to bless others...super thrilled about the study! Afterwards, I went to YaYa's with a few girls in our small group. Of course, I got dessert and was the only one. :) HA! :) Then, I came home and made Rolo brownies with Rosie. I bought her an apron and chef's hat while I was in Orange Beach because she loves aprons and she loves to cook. Those Rolo brownies are so good. I need to get them out of the house quick!!! I'm getting a cold. Fortunately, I still have some Zicam swabs left and my sweet sister, Marci, sent me 2 of her boxes. Those things save me from colds. I've already taken 2 today so hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow. Better boogie...gotta leave in 45 mins!

More later! :)

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
