Marcifest Weekend

We had a super quick Marcifest weekend a couple of weeks ago....Marci and Rick came to town for her best friend, Marley's, 40th surprise birthday party. It was wonderful, as always, to see Marce! :)

We made a sign for them to greet them at the airport! :)

The fam at church. Sheldy's missing...he was at home worshipping with the NFL. :) Daws is missing, too....he was at work.

Mom took us shopping...here's our annual (or actually semi-annual would be more like it) picture in Indigo....LOVE that store! Mom got me the coat I am wearing and the purse. :)

Mom and Dad with all 6 kids in Franke's!

Macy and her brothers, Asa and Josiah.

And the dancing begins. :)
Is this not unbelievably precious?!!!

Freezing in Marci's room. :)

After eating at Izzy's.
We LOVED seeing Marci and I have had a ton of people come up to me and tell me they met her. Once you meet Marci, you NEVER forget her! :) She's one of a kind, that's for sure. She's got a ton of energy and loves everyone. She also loves the Lord and is bold. She is one of the most encouraging people I have ever met and is LOYAL like you've never seen. She's always been my biggest fan....matter of fact, I think she is everyone's biggest fan. :) She reminds me a lot of Beth Moore...lots of energy, encouraging, and always sees the bright side of things. I am thankful for her and am thankful for all my other siblings, too. I am so happy that they all live her. We just all wish Marci lived here, too.
It is absolutely gorgeous outside today!!! It is so pretty that I went and traded cars with Lamar so I could have the convertible today. It's way too pretty to not take advantage of that car. I picked up the car, went to zumba, picked up my sista friend, Calli, and met another friend for lunch. Then, me and Cal went shopping and enjoyed having the top down on the car. It's just beautiful outside...loving this weather!!!
NLR Bible study was cancelled tonight...too many sick people. Mar is going to make gumbo. :) I love it that he loves to cook. May May came home Sat. night and spent the night. I am a little disappointed that I didn't get to spend more time with her but thankful for the time I did get. Hope everyone is wonderful!!! More later!
*I have no idea why I can't put spaces between my paragraphs when I center my posts. Oh well.

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
