"If I perish, I perish". Esther 4:16

Okay, so my sweet niece, Molly is getting married on January 9. She is marrying the sweetest guy who loves the Lord so much. It is the sweetest story. Anyway, Molly came to our small group in our Esther Bible study last week. I noticed she got up and left the room for a few minutes and then came back. I didn't think much of it. Right before Molly got up, we were talking about the verse in Esther about her saying, "If I perish, I perish" and how she was willing to give up her life to obey God. Later on that afternoon, I hear Macy upstairs in her room laughing hysterically. I didn't think much of that, either, because she laughs a lot (which I'm so thankful for). After that, she comes downstairs and starts telling me about what she found so hysterical. When Molly bought Logan's wedding ring, she got to have something engraved on his ring for free...part of the package, I guess. Anyway, she got a call from the jeweler during the Esther Bible study, which is when she walked out. It turns out the jeweler was about to engrave Logan's ring and they needed to know what to put on the ring. Molly, caught off gaurd but inspired by Esther's bravery and obedience to God, just told the jeweler to put Esther 4:16..."If I perish, I perish" on the ring. So forevermore, Logan's ring will say, "If I perish, I perish". :) HAAAA!!! So romantic!!!
Here are just some of the fam at Molly's shower yesterday. That shower was great....WONDERFUL food and a ton of people. Molly got so many wonderful things. Molly's the 3rd one from the right on the top row.
Speaking of the amazing food, this was the most amazing dip ever!!! The only thing is that I didn't know it was a dip...I thought it was a casserole. I didn't see the little name by it and just grabbed me a big serving of it. It was seriously the best "casserole" I had ever tasted. I savored every single bite...absolutely DELICIOUS!! I started talking to my table about how great the casserole was and then realized that everyone else had chips with theirs. Turns out, the most delicious casserole I have ever had was artichoke dip and not just any artichoke dip....Paula Dean's artichoke dip. The sweet hostess gave me the recipe (I'll put it on my recipe blog later). I am telling you, this dip is TO. DIE. FOR!!! I even got another helping...without the chips! :)
And here is my sweet daughter and aunt enjoying the dip.

Just a few of Molly's bridesmaids...she's having 14!! :) That's what happens when you have a huge family!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
