Molly's Bridesmaid's Luncheon

We had Molly's bridemaid's luncheon at my house last Friday. It was so much fun! My aunts have always had bridesmaid's luncheons for us so we decided to carry on the tradition and do the same thing for our nieces. My aunt, Jerry Lu, who is a wedding planner was a HUGE help!! She knew everything!!! My sister, Marci, flew in from Nebraska and we got to work! Marci decided that my mantle was too bare for the shower so while we were in Hobby Lobby, I saw some cute letters that reminded me of the banner Kelly did for Harper for her birthday. I got on her blog on my iPhone and showed Marci and Sabrina the banner she had made. They thought it was so cute so we decided we'd make one. I would have NEVER done it without their wanting to. I didn't think there was any way we could get that done in a couple of hours but we did and it turned out so cute. Of course, all my sisters are super artistic (the gene TOTALLY skipped me)so that didn't hurt. :)

Here we are starting our project. Charlie Bear hung out with us all day. He was so cute. :)
Here's the finished banner and one of the tables set up (we had 3 of them). Sabrina and Hannah tied the bows on the chairs.
Close up of the banner. We didn't buy enough paper so Sabrina (my VERY artistic sister-in-law who paints like nobody's business and has illustrated an adorable book) decided to just add scalloped edges. Creative minds! :) That would have never entered my mind but look how cute!
And, a close up of the other side. This banner is now hanging above Molly's bed. :)
We added lights and little heart ornaments to the tree in the living room.
The cute cupcakes we ordered.
Molly's last name is now Bloom. Is that not the cutest name ever?! Molly Bloom! We put lemons and limes in the water. Again, NOT my idea. I had no idea how to get together a party like this together but Marci and Jerry Lu ROCK at stuff like this!
One of the tables. If you look closely you can see M&M's around the edge of the flower pot. Marci's idea. :) Cute! We also put Molly's name around the centerpiece. Mom and Sabrina tied the cute bows around the silverware. Marci bought her Pampered Chef polka dotted dishes from NE. Molly LOVES all things cute (polka dots, stripes, pinks, greens, etc.) so we tried to do really cutesy for her.
My sister, Shanny, got us these adorable aprons with our names on them for hostess gifts. Love them! Molly's my beautiful niece in the middle with the red dress on. She's glowing in love! :)
Most of the bridesmaids....Molly had 14. :) By the way, Molly is an identical twin. Her twin is Abby, who is standing next to her in the black and white dress. Aren't they adorable?!

The cute bridesmaid's gifts.
We had such a fun time at the shower. The menu was quiche, fresh fruit, banana bread, and cupcakes. We all went around the room and prayed for Molly at the end. It was really sweet. I think Molly and Logan were the most in love bride and groom I've ever seen. I'll post more pictures later of the rehearsal dinner and wedding.
Happy almost Sunday!!!
Okay, now that I have published my post, I am realizing that my pictures are being cut off on the right hand side. I have no idea how to fix this. I guess I need to make them smaller.

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
