Simple Pleasures

I love the little pleasures in life...actually I love the big pleasures in life, too.  I just love to take the wonderful things in life all in and there are so many wonderful things.  Here are just a few of my favorite simple pleasures.
Watching a thunderstorm (in the distance) or lying in bed with Mar listening to a thunderstorm.
Looking at a beautiful snowcapped mountain (or even better, waking up and looking out the window and seeing this).
A good hug from Rosy.
Memories of Macy being little
Riding in the convertible on a gorgeous day
A good laugh!
Dancing
Golden Retriever Puppies
Charlie Bear riding in the car with me.
*The sound, sight, and smell of the ocean
*Feather beds with down comforters and down pillows
*CHOCOLATE!!!
*A massage from Mar, especially when I'm sore.
*A hot bath
*A space heater by my freezing cold feet.
*The smell of my house when I've just refilled my Bath and Body Works wallflowers.
*A Sunday afternoon nap
*Flip flops
*A friend request on Facebook from an old friend.
*The smell of freshly mowed grass
*Getting warm by a fireplace.
*Laying out with friends by the pool in the summer.
*Going out to eat.
*The wind blowing through my hair. I LOVE windy days!
*A comfortable girly dress
*Snuggling*
*A clean house
*SNOW, especially in Colorado
*Sleeping late
*Valentine's Day.......this holiday just appeals to me in everyway...it's all about love, chocolate, romance, etc...AND everywhere you go, they are selling super cute stuff.
*Uggs
And MANY MANY more!!!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
