Ro's straight hair :)

Rosy came over last week and asked me to straighten her hair. She has beautiful naturally curly hair just like her mother but occasionally she wants it straightened. She was SO cute after I straightened it for her. She kept twirling around and brushing her hair. She kept looking at it in the mirror. She loved it! She said her mom wasn't going to recognize her. :) I asked her how she felt and she said, "Different" and then she said, "I feel like YOU!" :) So precious! That baby girl means the world to me. She's my sweet little sunshine. She was over for a "play date" today and she told me she wanted me to call her "Ro" and she was going to call me "Had". :) She has such a soft heart. We don't have cable and we never ever watch TV but when I'm at the Athletic Club walking, all the TV's are going and one night I watched The Biggest Loser and was HOOKED!!! It was a 2 hour special so I just kept walking and walking and walking. :) I loved that show and tried to DVR it at Mom's. When I was over there recently, I checked to see if the show had recorded...only one episode recorded and it was the ONE show I had seen all season! HA! :) Just my luck! Anyway, I was telling mom she needed to come watch it. Rosy came in there and sat down next to me and was asking me what the show was about and I told her it was about unhealthy people trying to lose weight to become healthy. Anyway, one of the ladies who had won a phone call with her husband was crying talking to him. I looked over at Rosy and she had tears in her eyes. She is so soft hearted and compassionate. My first thought was, "Oh no! We're in trouble here". Macy was always really strong and stood up for herself for the most part, especially when she was younger. She didn't get her feelings hurt easily which was good for this Mama. Kathryn, on the other hand, got her feelings hurt easily and I have had to tell a few people how the "cow ate the cabbage" (as my sista would say). :) Anyway, I hope I don't get myself in BIG TROUBLE standing up to someone for hurting my precious sunshine. :s Some little boy told Rosy she couldn't sit with him at the park the other day (it made Rosy cry) and I almost went and told him off but then I thought better of it which was a good thing because 1) he was only 3 or 4 and 2) it turns out my sister (who was with me) is good friends with his mom, who was at the park also. Anyway, here's sweet Ro with her straight hair.

Look how long that hair is!

She is so cute and sweet!!!

Aunt Hadoo likes to teach Rosy about all the good things in life...like Godiva chocolate! :) Mar surprised me with this box of chocolate and pretty daisys. :) I asked Rosy why she thought Lamar brought me flowers and she said, "Because he loves you". She also wanted to know when he was going to bring her some flowers. Just a few hours earlier when we were at the park, Rosie had picked some flowers and said to me, Shanny (my sister), and Hannah (my sister and Rosy's mom), "We all need flowers because we all love each other" and started passing out the flowers. :)

I LOVE this picture! It was taken with my iPhone but I think it's so cute! Rosy LOVES flowers and she loves the color purple. She was picking these purple flowers out of my yard. :) I love spending time with Rosebud! She makes life more fun!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Dresser Redo

I've been so bad at blogging in the past few years. I blog so I can remember. I painted a set of chest of drawers a few years ago in our other house and I loved the result. The only problem is I didn't blog about it so I have no record of what I did to it. I have no idea what red paint color I used. I thought I had it written on FB but I have searched and searched and I can't find anywhere where I wrote the paint color so now I have this wonderful red chest of drawers and have no idea what the color is. I didn't want that to happen again so I am making sure that I write about the chest of drawers in our master bedroom that I recently painted.  Here is the piece of furniture before Sorry about me in my robe in the mirror. LOL! I really wanted to lighten this up so I decided I would paint it white. I LOVE white and thought it would be great SO I used this chalk paint that I got at Michael's. I had already used it on my coffee table and thought it would be f...

He is Risen INDEED!!!

Happy Easter!!! Ahhhh...I'm just SO SO thankful that Christ ROSE and we are free!!! WOOHOOOO!!! I alway love the Easter service at church at this was no exception. The worship is always my favorite and every year I wish I would have gone to both services. This year our church had the Arkansas Symphony up there with them and the music was just so beautiful! All the songs were such wonderful songs about Christ rising again. And there was a huge wooden cross on the stage that was so beautiful. I, of course, had to take a picture but the picture doesn't quite do it justice. It was just so beautiful.    Brandon preached the sermon and it was so good, too. After the sermon, we sung an old hymn that I love.....Because He Lives. Easter was even more special today because Kevin and Macy were with us. This was their one year dating anniversary and they have now been married 15 days! This weekend was their first time here since they have been married. We got to see them last weekend...
