I'm up bright and early this morning. I have gotten pretty good sleep the last 2 nights and I'm not itching like I was!! PRAISE GOD!! I was on a high on Friday when I went all day without itching!! It was just wonderful relief! I'm finally getting better!! YAY!!! Still on 30 mg Prednisone but that's okay....I'll tapering off so it's all good. :) Life has been so good lately! It's been so hard for 2 months but also the most wonderful time with the Lord...a growing time that I desperately needed for over 3 years. I'll write about it later. I'm going to the early church service this morning and then going to work in Rosy's class! Lamar, Macy, and I are going to work in her class all summer. :) Rosy's so excited and so am I! There's nothing cuter than 4 year olds!! They say the most hilarious things!
My soul sista's mom, Marilyn, got Arkansas Mother of the Year this year!! What an honor!! They are in New York this weekend celebrating and going to an Mother of the Year program where they will honor her. Last Tuesday, there was a luncheon here to honor Marilyn. It was really a neat tribute. There was a lady at the end that talked who was hilarious!! She was a fiesty fireball!! Her husband died 2 years ago but they had been married 65 years! She has the funniest stories! Very entertaining!
Charlie Bear has had a lot of baths lately due to the poison ivy in our front and back yard. He finally had his last bath last week when there was hardly anymore sign of poison ivy. Hopefully, it's all dead now...I think it is. I've been scared to go in our backyard to even look but Lamar says we're free and clear. Now, I won't be scared of Charlie Bear touching me. He's the sweetest dog in the world and really has been man's best friend to me and the rest of our family. I love him so much! I also decided to throw away his cute little monogrammed bed that he's had for awhile...I just didn't want to chance the possibility of poison ivy sap being on there. Charlie Bear is also developing arthritis so I have been wanting to get him an orthopedic bed. We finally went to Petco and got him one...it's XL but I think it's still too small so I think I'm going to have to order again from Dr. Foster/Smith. I want him to have all the room he needs! Also, if I order from them, he gets to have his name on his bed which is a fun touch. :) Isn't he adorable?!
Every Wednesday, I have been meeting Calli and her family/friends at Larry's Pizza. It's my indulge day! I ate 3 pieces of chocolate chip pizza last Wednesday when I went there!! I start looking forward to it on Tuesday night! :) That chocolate chip pizza is TO DIE FOR!! I wish my sista wouldn't have introduced it to me!! :) I actually eat the dessert pizza first!! Why not?! :) I love going to Larry's for not just the pizza, but also for the company....I love all these people. My friend, Leigh Anne (red hair), goes, too. I have known her since 7th grade. I remember spending the night at her house and her parents had thet cutest 2 little blonde haired foster kids. I was also very envious of Leigh Ann's jewelry!! HA! ;) I'll never forget all her adorable beaded neclaces that she would mix, match, and twist. I wanted them so much! We went to Walnut Valley together in the 7th grade when there were only 12 people in our class...that was the most fun school year of my life! I LOVED that school! Now, the school has grown by leaps and bounds and is called Little Rock Christian. Leigh Anne teaches a home school class and she also teaches water aerobics. She has the BEST attitude that is very godly. I want to be more like her!! When she upsets someone (that really shouldn't be upset), she buys them a plant. When I upset someone that I don't think should be upset, I have to try to bite my tongue! :)
Macy, Hannah, and Rosy came with us to Larry's last week and Macy brought her 3 adopted cats that she got from the humane society. She adopts them out for days at a time and then brings them back. They are SO cute!! They only problem is that I can't really hold them because of their claws. The kids loved all the cats. Oh, by the way, there are always a ton of kids that come to Larry's, too. I love being around all of them! Now that Macy is older, it is really fun for me to be around my friend's kids and get that little taste of children/teenagers! Aren't they all so cute?! These aren't even half of them!
This cat is my favorite! She's so cute with her blue eyes and gray fur. Of course, I really have no idea if "she" is a she or he. :)
So, last week was Macy's suitemate, Caroline's, birthday. Caroline's mom died suddenly a couple of weeks ago on vacation and I have just been so heartbroken for Caroline. She was very close to her mom. I have been thinking about her so much and praying for her. I told Macy on Monday that I really felt like I needed to do something for her. Caroline studies a lot and exams are coming up. This is the first time she won't have her mom so I told Macy I wanted to do something for her. Macy then told me that her birthday was Wed. so Macy and I went to Target and shopped. We had so much fun. Caroline is a Tri-Chi and their colors are hot pink and green so we went wit that theme. We found the cute little corkboard at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. Macy asked me as we were checking out at Target if I could paint the bucket we got her!! UH, panic set in! Yes, I have painted things before but that was YEARS ago...like high school!! I told her there was no way and I then I started thinking that maybe I could do it, so that's when we headed to Hobby Lobby and bought a paint pen. I had about 15 minutes before I met my friend to go walking so I just prayed and asked God to help me not mess up! Well, actually Lamar prayed for me.
Macy wanted me to write Sweet Caroline on it. I wish I wouldn't have added the little pink parts to the polka dots but that's okay. It worked out. Macy was so fun to shop with because she knew all of Caroline's favorite things like her favorite cereal and pop-tarts. We got her magazines, a movie, a book, a iTunes card, earbuds, pink tennis balls, rubber bands, sunscreen, and just fun stuff that everyone can use. :)
Calli and Bo! This dog makes me laugh every single time I see him! He is the cutest thing and weighs absolutely nothing!!! He is SO hyper!!!
Macy brought the cats home again. We decided to see how Charlie Bear would do and it was so funny, he did absolutely nothing!! The cat was meowing like crazy and Charlie Bear was just laying there!! Macy was looking at me in shock!! I was shocked, too! After about 5 minutes, Charlie Bear got interested and tried to see what the kitty was all about. :)
I went over to see my sweet, sunshiney sister, Shanny on Friday. I had a little bit of a hard day on Thursday and Friday and my friends and family were there to just love on me!! Seriously, God really does use others as His hands and feet. I remember when I was going through my divorce with Ryan so long ago. God got me through but He also used my family and friends support to pick me up!! That is how I felt on Thursday and Friday....just LOVED!! I have been so thankful lately for how God has blessed me with godly, loving people in my life. Anyway, I woke up on Friday morning (after going to sleep at 6:00 am). I cleaned the closet all night! I think the Prednisone helped me do that!!! :) When I woke up around 11:00, I called Shanny and she told me to come over. I also called my sister, Marci, who brightens my life in every way!!! She makes me laugh hysterically and defends me like no other!!! I was laughing so hard on the phone!! She is VERY loyal and doesn't want anyone messing with her sister!! I have so many memories of Marci defending me! :) She also loves the Lord like crazy! She prays for me on the phone a lot. She reminds me of Beth Moore than anyone else I've ever met. She is an ENERGIZER to the 1000 degree. Anyway, after I got off the phone with Marci, I went to Shanny's and just talked to her while she was a "handy man" and hung (and ironed!) her curtains. She's always been the handy man around the house....ooooooh, I totally just thought of a great gift to get her!! :) Anyway, Shanny is redoing her TV room and making it a neat little movie room!! She got the most comfortable movie chairs ever!! She was hanging her black out curtains in this picture. I LOVE MY SISTERS!! I thank the Lord He gave me 3 of them...instant forever best friends!
Macy's roommate, Kelsie, sent chocolate cupcakes home with Macy to give me! Wasn't that sweet?! It made my day! The way to my heart is definitely through chocolate!!! :) I actually didn't try one because I wasn't hungry when I got them and then Kelsie told me to not eat them because they were horrible! HA! :) It is totally the thought that counts and it just made my day to know that I was thought of, especially through chocolate!! :)
On Friday night, Hannah, Macy, and I met my sweet friend, Belinda, at Copeland's. I love these girls!!! After that, we (except Belinda) went to Maggie Moo's for some much needed ice cream and then we went to Celebrate Recovery at church. It was an assignment for Macy and I wanted to go with her because let's face it, who doesn't need CR?! I think everyone does! The pamphlet says: "Do you have trouble setting limits for yourself? Do you sacrifice your identity, desires or needs to make others feel good about themselves or try to keep the peace? Do you struggle feeling safe when you aren't in control? Do you raise your voice to get your way? Do you act kind on the outside, but feel bitter on the inside? Do you use food, sex/pornography, relationships, alchohol or drugs to cope with life's problems? Do you struggle with body image? Do you love someone struggling with destructive behaviors, such as pornorgraphy, drugs, or alcohol? Do you live with someone who abuses you physically, sexually or emotionally or feel the continued effects from past traumas and abuse? Don't give up There is Hope..." Wow! Okay, yep, I could use that place! :) The only problem is that when we went on Friday, we couldn't go to our small groups because there were tornadoes everywhere...the sirens probably went off for over an hour. We'll try again next week!
I just have to brag on my sweet daughter!! I am so proud of her and her love for the Lord!! I see God's grace when I look at her! She has been through so much in life and is one strong cookie in so many ways! She has loved the Lord since she was a little girl and still does...just look at this last page of her paper. I think it's so sweet what her teacher said to her at the end. :) I sure do love my baby girl! I've been having so much fun with her lately just spending time with her. She'll be home for the summer on FRIDAY!! WOO-HOO!! Okay, I have to go get ready!! I have to leave for church in 40 minutes!! Oh, one more thing...I have lost 10 pounds!! I am SO happy!! I feel so good! I am eating healthier than I have ever eaten. I crave things like grapes these days! It's crazy! Don't get me wrong!! I STILL love my chocolate but I just don't eat it everyday and when I do, I hold back on calories later. I have been doing livestrong.com which is a great website to keep up with your calories and exercise and it's a great accountability partner for me! :) All my clothes fit me again!! YES!! Later Gators!
