Macy goes back to college....sophomore year.

Well, Macy has gone back to college.  The house seems so quiet.  I'm so happy where she is, though.  This was a tweet the other day from Ouachita....."For the fourth straight year, Ouachita Baptist University has been ranked the No. 1 Regional College in the South by U.S. News & World Report." I'm glad Macy is at a good school!! Here are some pictures.
Macy and I went to see Nanny McPhee on Friday and then went to Bravo, which was EXCELLENT!! Macy got the best steak I have ever tasted. It was dripping in butter sauce!! SO good!
I got some kind of seafood dish that wasn't my favorite.  Next time, I'll get what Macy got. The atmosphere was great, though.
For those of you who saw my last blog post, look at the difference in Macy's room!! Here's a picture of it before. I can actually see the floor!! I think Charlie Bear knew she was about to leave because that's the only time her room is clean. :)
We left our house around 1:30 and headed to Arkadoo. :) I forgot to get a picture of Macy's room before we started moving it around.   I got one the second I remembered to, though...so here's a kind of before picture.  Macy is in the new dorm this year and it's really pretty!!! Here Lamar and Ryan are stacking the 2 desks on top of each other.  Macy's roommate had an injury so she couldn't come to college this semester so for now Macy has a room to herself.  She's excited about it...who wouldn't be?!
Andy always comes and helps us move Macy in.....she's such a sweet friend! We saw Abby there, too, and went and got ice cream with her...even though she didn't eat any. :) Addy and Ryan helped, too, which was REALLY nice of them...they had to travel 4 hours with carpet and cinder blocks (that we found out aren't allowed in the new dorm) in the back of his truck. We ended up not using the carpet, either...the wood floors were too pretty to cover up.
Her room all finished. :)
Her cute little chair.
I love her desk area.
The whole room...still have to get curtains.
Andy and May May. :)
Cute little desk.
Same pillows as last year but I love them! :)
Awesome bathroom!! Macy gets her own sink!! :) YAY!!! Pretty!!
Macy's little suite...when you walk in, the bathroom and sinks are to the right and her dorm room is to the left...they have their own little area. They've got it made!
Saying goodbye. :( Good thing she's just an hour away, especially since she forgot ALL her hang up clothes!!!
Charlie Bear and I sent this picture to Macy today to tell her we missed her.  Charlie Bear is frowning...he's usually smiling. He loved having Macy home this summer.  He would go outside her door every morning to say good morning to her. He would whine outside her door to let her know he was there.  I felt so bad because when we got home last night, CB didn't greet us at the door. I found him in the office having a seizure. It makes me so sad to see him get older. He was okay after a few minutes. I felt so bad, though, because he loves to greet us at the door and he couldn't move when he saw our car pull in through the office window.  I sure do love my sweet guy! His birthday is in a month...he'll be 11 years old. He sure has been a great friend.

We should have a little bit cooler temperatures this week.
The high on Thursday is only 89!! WOO-HOO!! This heat has been horrible this summer. I've gotten a heat rash from exercising out in it. I have never in my life been so excited for cooler weather. A few weeks ago when I was walking at 7:45 pm, the heat index was 111!!!! I just want to be able to enjoy being outside again...being outdoors in God's creation is one of my favorite things and it's just been too hot lately to enjoy it very much.  Well, I need to go work on getting more things together to give away....there is a truck coming tomorrow to our neighborhood and all we have to do is put our give aways out of the curb.  I organized the linen closet this weekend (cannot believe I didn't take before/after pictures...it was impressive, believe me!) and have a lot of sheets, blankets, etc. to give away.  I'm going to slowly organize and get give aways together over the next few weeks. That way, next time when the truck comes, I'll have a lot of stuff for them..AND I'll be more organized!!!

More later! :)

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
