Rosy's first haircut and Maumelle Park

On Tuesday morning, I met Hannah at Ooh La La salon to watch Banner while Rosy got her first haircut. I also wanted to be there to see Rosy get her hair cut.  Emily, my sweet beautiful cousin cuts hair there and was all ready to cut Rosy's hair for the first time.  Well it didn't go so well at first. Rosy got scared about having to wear the black cape thing and wouldn't go to the chair.  Hannah sat her in the chair and she screamed.  So, the nice lady that you see in the picture below with the blond hair was able to calm her down with a toy from back in the day.  It was one of those toys where there is a face and magnetic hair.  You can move the hair around the face with the little red pen.  Rosy LOVED it! She got it at Cracker Barrel where they sale toys from way back when.  After the lady got her calmed down, we talked Rosy into letting Emily "brush" her hair.
Here is Emily brushing Rosy's hair. I think Rosy may have thought that cutting her hair would hurt so we just used the word brushing and Hannah explained later that Emily cut it while she was brushing it. Rosy was great with it.
Emily is getting married at the end of this month! :)
Hannah holding Ban.  Look how cute Emily's salon is! I love it! I would love to do my bedroom in these colors.

After this appointment, I went to a funeral for a friend's brother, who died unexpectedly.  He stood out as a man who loved the Lord a lot and adored his wife and kids. He left behind a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. It's so so sad.  A 18 wheeler was trying to pass a car in front of him and when he got in the other lane to pass, he hit David head on. He was killed instantly.  The semi also hit the car behind David with 2 women in it. They were sent to the hospital.  I know David is happy with the Lord but I feel so sad for his family left behind.  I'm going to write a post on it later and put a really neat e-mail he had written about marriage.  He really was a man of integrity who adored his wife...you don't see that too often these days.
The weather was gorgeous all week long so Hannah and I took Banner and Rosy to Maumelle Park just to sti and take the beautiful weather in.  It was so pretty outside. :) I sure do love these two!
Hannah is such a good mom. She works really hard! Justin is in med school all day and studies most of the night so she has the kids by herself a lot. She does such a great job! Even though Justin is really busy in med school, he still is a great dad! Those kids have great parents who both love them so much! AND...they have a huge family who adore them, too! Blessed kiddos!! We are blessed by them, too!
It's hard to believe that Rosy cried when she found out her mommy was having a boy. She sure does love her brother! We all do!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Christmas Decorations

I am so behind on my blog, once again. I have so much to write about......Thanksgiving, the Turkey Trot, the Granny Walk, Marcifest, the LSU/HOG game, etc.  It was all wonderful! I don't want to leave all of that out.  I'll go back and catch up or at least I think I will.  One thing I learned way back in the day when I was scrapbooking was that if I got behind to just start where I was instead of backtracking. Otherwise, it was just too overwhelming. So, I'm starting with right now and right now, I'm decorating for Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas...the music, the atmosphere, and most especially, the celebration of Christ's birth. I got a pretty swag for my door and wanted garland to match. I have a wonderful friend, Hope, who is an incredibly talented decorator and she volunteered to make the garland for me.  We went shopping together and she knew exactly what to buy and came to my house and put it all together.  She did a great job! I love my door!!...
