Happy Birthday and Valentine's Day, May May!!!

Macy's birthday is Friday and we're not going to be here so I decided to surprise her by decorating her room. I called Hannah and asked if she would help me and we had such a fun day! Macy was telling me last week that she wished she had a Valentine and that before Molly was married, they always gave each other Valentine's.  SO, I decided to combine her birthday and Valentine's day and decorate her room for both.  Hannah and I went to Party City and got the supplies and then had so much fun decorating.
We got lots of balloons (smiley faces included) and fun gumballs that are metallic looking.  We also got a birthday banner, some cutout hearts, some round Valentine's fans, and some garland.
Macy's room....all decorated! :)
The other day, we all watched a Hallmark movie at Mom and Dad's (the Lost Valentine, maybe? I'm not sure of the name) and it was SO good..one of the most touching movies I've seen (and clean..most Hallmark movies are very clean). Anyway, Hannah thought the girl on there looked like Macy and Macy said that she wished she looked like the girl.  Hannah told her that all she needed was red lipstick! HA! SO, Hannah got Macy red lipstick for her birthday and put it on the sign she made her. Isn't it so cute?! Our sweet friend, Jennifer, had a one year birthday party for her daughter last weekend and she brought the leftover favors to our Ladies Group...SO Hannah and I glued some of those cookies to this poster board. Macy loves zebra and we just added, "You're Number ONE!" to the poster. :) Hannah made the hearts at the top and put them on with cute little heart clips and then I wrote Macy is...fabulous, funny, caring, and sweet on the hearts.
Happy Birthday banner. :)
HA! HA!
I put a big Valentine card on her bed and her birthday card (with her present...a years subscription to Netflix).  I also added her favorite candy.....sourpatch watermelons and sweethearts along with some chocolate and some other fun candy.  The hat on the bed says, "All hail the birthday princess!" HA! :) Her grandparents sent her a package in the mail that came yesterday so I added that to her bed, too. :) Wouldn't it be so much fun to open your bedroom door to this?! I would LOVE it!!! :)  Happy Happy Birthday and Valentine's Day, May May!! I love you to the moon and back INFINITY!!! :)

By the way, I am writing this on Wednesday, Feb. 9th but not posting in until Friday night.  Macy doesn't read my blog but just in case she happened to click on it for some reason, I'd rather be safe than sorry. :)

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Nashville Trip

Once again, it has been SO long since I have done a blog post. I think with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and all the other social media, I get overwhelmed. I haven't posted a Facebook album in so long, though, so I really wanted to start blogging again to be able to remember! This might be my last post for 2 years again, though! LOL! We will see. We took a business trip last weekend to Nashville (first time to ever go to Nashville) and it was so fun because on this business trip, Macy and Kevin got to come with us! I haven't written on here yet about it, but Kevin is now working for the same company Lamar works for and we are just THRILLED about it!!!  Our weekend trip actually started on a Thursday. The morning started with my first visit to the ER ever but more about that in another post. I was okay and am so so thankful for my precious dad who took me there and we got to bypass the waiting room. I have continued to be blessed by my Dad and his love for the Lord and oth...
