God...He's in the small things!

The other night I was over at my mom and dad's and we were talking about how God answers even small prayers and how cool that is. It reminded me of something that happened a couple of years ago that I told them about that I don't want to forget.  Back in April 2010, I had  horrible time with poison ivy. I had never had it before but I had unknowingly stepped all in it going through a wooded lot for sale (with an amazing view) on a walk one day. After I developed the poison ivy, my calves were so itchy in the store one day that I just couldn't stand it, so I used my foot (with that same tennis shoes on) to scratch all up and down my calves. I just didn't have any experience with poison ivy and didn't realize that those shoes still had sap on them (I ended up throwing those shoes away). My poison ivy got a lot worse after that. I didn't sleep well for a solid month because it just wouldn't go away and I was itching so bad. My left foot and an...

Siesta Scripture Celebration 2012

Y'all, last weekend I had the complete joy and pleasure to go to Houston for the SSMTC with my sweet friend, Nancy, and my baby girl, May May, who is no longer a baby girl.....she'll be 21 in 2 weeks!! WHOA! I signed up 2 years ago to do the Siesta Scripture Memory verses and never finished. This time around, I was determined to finish but didn't know if I would go to the celebration because I didn't know anyone and I know myself well enough to know that there is just no way I would have had the courage to go by myself. Well, one day last summer, my sister, Shanny and I were eating yogurt with our friend, Nancy, and she told us she was going and wanted us to all go together! I was SO excited! Shanny didn't end up coming because she had memorized Beth Moore's verses instead of her own and she is such a rule follower that she thought she would be breaking the rules if she came not memorizing her own verses. We told her it didn't matter but she said she just ...

Passion 2012

Well, Passion 2012 has come and gone and it was GREAT!! This was Macy's third year to attend and she loved it, as always!!! She went with 2nd Baptist Church in Russellville. She stayed in an old church and there were 2 showers for 75 people! She said she washed her hair in the sink most of the time. She went with about 14 people from Little Rock but got assigned to a bus with not one person she knew. She ended up asking one of the men in charge if she could move buses in Memphis and he let her. I was glad. There's nothing like a 13 hour bus ride with all strangers. Of course, I may have enjoyed it but not a 20 year old! :)  I know God was in control, though, and know that if He let her stay on that bus, there was a reason. This was our second year to watch it online and we loved it, too!! It was so great to see how God worked!! When Macy got home, I looked through the few pix she took (not like her mama who takes a million pictures of anything and everything) and  made a li...
