A God Hug!!

God did the sweetest thing for Hannah and I one night on our way home from LG. We have both been sick. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am directionally challenged. :) I use my Garmin app for everything. As Hannah and I were sitting in my car about to leave LG, I pushed "Go home" on my app and followed the directions. Hannah was with me and we were just talking. All of the sudden, we realized that we were no longer on the city streets. It was dark and the houses were few and far between. There were no street lights.  Hannah said at one point, "I'm a little scared" and I told her not to be scared. I told her that Jesus loves us and that He was healing us from head to toe and that by His stripes we are healed (she has fibromyalgia and is in pain a lot, too) :( I told her that He was watching out after us and we didn't need to be afraid. I kept going to where the Garmin told me (at this point I was curious). It said our destination was ahead so I kept going until we reached our destination. I looked to the right and there was a house up on a hill and I looked to our left and there were 2 flags. I told Hannah I was kinda hoping that "home" would have been a church or something and then Hannah said, "Yeah, or that the flag was a Christian flag or something." Well, when we first drove up, the wind wasn't blowing so we couldn't really see the bottom flag but as the wind blew, look what we saw!
Yep, a cross!!!  A CROSS!!! What a wink from God!! Actually, what a shout from God!! He took me HOME alright...right to the cross!!! It was AWESOME!! Hannah and I just sat there in awe!! The lights on the bush under the flags are my car lights. It was really dark where we were, so I turned my car around and shined them where we could see the flags better. We just sat there and took it all in. I mean, what in the world was that flag doing in the middle of nowhere! Aren't flags like that usually at schools or something? When we finally decided to leave, I started driving off and we saw a gorgeous owl. He flew right in front of our car and landed on a fence. It was so beautiful. I took a picture of the destination which is only listed as "Point" because I want to go back.
When I finally got to my home where I actually reside (LOL), I told Lamar all about it. God is SOOOOOO good! I will never forget that night.....the night God took me "home"! :)

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
