St. John Day 4

This morning, I woke up before Lamar, did my quiet time and then headed out to the pool to lay out. It was 9:30 when I got out there. Let me tell ya, the breeze wasn't blowing very much today and it was HOT! Lamar joined me a little bit later and then we laid out together until about noon. We came in and ate lunch and then laid out a little bit more. We actually spent more time in the pool than lying out because it was just so hot. Then we decided to go to Cruz Bay to get rafts, flip flops for Lamar, and mosquito coils. We decided to take a picture of the two of us together before we left because we realized we hadn't had any pictures together so I set my self timer.
Here we are. I need to set the self timer with a pretty view! I love our cottage, though! We like to call it an outdoor house because all the rooms seem like they are in the outdoors.
Seriously, the view!! Seriously! I can't get over it!

This tree was built into the house. The man who built this house climbed this tree to see what the view would look like which was absolutely breathtaking! The tree was special to him, so he had everyone build around it. :)
The steps down to our Jeep. It is lit up at night and so pretty.

We ended up stopping in Coral Bay where they had some shops and getting everything but the rafts so we decided not to drive all the way to Cruz Bay just for rafts. So we went exploring and it was super fun! We traveled the east end of St. John and saw the most beautiful sights!! It rained on us some. We saw donkeys in the road along with chickens and goats. It was so much fun! Our Jeep wouldn't start twice which was a little scary. Lamar prayed and then it started. I'm a little nervous about our Jeep dying somewhere. He ended up not stopping the car again just in case. I took an obnoxious amount of Vine videos today of all of this. I've been taking an obnoxious amount the whole time, actually! I love that not many people follow me on Vine because I can put a TON of videos of whatever I want and not care at all.
Just look how gorgeous! And pictures don't even begin to do it justice! You can't tell in the picture but the water is turquoise. We just saw this on our drive and lots of other gorgeous views, too!
I got so excited when I saw donkeys in the distance in the street. Lamar stopped the car and they came around to see me! I loved it!!! HAAAA!! I love this!!! I had to wear my glasses today (I took them off in the pictures) because my contacts got some sunscreen in them...so they've been soaking in cleanser.
I love them! The one on the left was covered in mud! :)
Sweet donkey friends.
Other sweet guys in the road. I love it! I got a picture yesterday of a chicken with her baby chicks.

Then, we came back and ate and have been relaxing here ever since. It was a lot cooler here when we came back because of the rain. It has rained every day since we've been here and I love it!!! It only rains for a few minutes and then the sun is back out! I bet we will see a rainbow! I hope so!
Here was the view when we got back tonight. It was so beautiful out....breezy and cool, too!
I sat on the balcony and took in the view. All the seats were wet from the rain.
My hair is CRAZY frizzy here. And it's so thin but it feels thick here!! I guess because it's so curly and frizzy. It doesn't even have a chance here so I don't even try. I just wash and go! No blow dry, no straightening, no nothin! It's really nice to not have to worry about it.
Beautiful landscaping here! I love it!
And here are my sweet boys while we are gone. Charlie Bear is loving life, like he always does no matter where he is and Reggie is with his first Mama...the one who only had him a few weeks and he is still the most attached to her. Funny dog! I sure do love them! Look how soft Charlie Bear's fur is!
Right now we are watching a storm off in the distance. Beautiful lightening! I'm going to put this down. More tomorrow!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Dresser Redo

I've been so bad at blogging in the past few years. I blog so I can remember. I painted a set of chest of drawers a few years ago in our other house and I loved the result. The only problem is I didn't blog about it so I have no record of what I did to it. I have no idea what red paint color I used. I thought I had it written on FB but I have searched and searched and I can't find anywhere where I wrote the paint color so now I have this wonderful red chest of drawers and have no idea what the color is. I didn't want that to happen again so I am making sure that I write about the chest of drawers in our master bedroom that I recently painted.  Here is the piece of furniture before Sorry about me in my robe in the mirror. LOL! I really wanted to lighten this up so I decided I would paint it white. I LOVE white and thought it would be great SO I used this chalk paint that I got at Michael's. I had already used it on my coffee table and thought it would be f...

He is Risen INDEED!!!

Happy Easter!!! Ahhhh...I'm just SO SO thankful that Christ ROSE and we are free!!! WOOHOOOO!!! I alway love the Easter service at church at this was no exception. The worship is always my favorite and every year I wish I would have gone to both services. This year our church had the Arkansas Symphony up there with them and the music was just so beautiful! All the songs were such wonderful songs about Christ rising again. And there was a huge wooden cross on the stage that was so beautiful. I, of course, had to take a picture but the picture doesn't quite do it justice. It was just so beautiful.    Brandon preached the sermon and it was so good, too. After the sermon, we sung an old hymn that I love.....Because He Lives. Easter was even more special today because Kevin and Macy were with us. This was their one year dating anniversary and they have now been married 15 days! This weekend was their first time here since they have been married. We got to see them last weekend...
