St. John Day 6

As I write this, I'm listening to the rain and thunder. What a wonderful sound! I love how it rains hard every day here and then it's just sunny. SO neat! Today, we just spent the day today sunning! It was great! I fell asleep on the raft, which I have never done before. Super relaxing! At about 4, we decided we'd had enough sun and got ready and went to eat at Skinny Legs. They are supposed to have the best burgers and they were really good. That is all we did today and it was wonderful. Here are some pictures.
I put make up on! :) I also tried to straighten my hair..it just kept getting curlier throughout the night.
We set the self timer with a view this time. :)
Still in love after 14 years..so thankful!
I told Lamar today that he is the nicest man I know and then I said, "Well, the nicest husband I know!" and I'm telling you it's the truth. He treats me so well and takes such good care of me. I don't know how I would live without him.
Everything is SO laid back in St. John! I love it!

Mar is always joking with me saying he's got skinny legs and a big belly and that he thinks I didn't like that before I married him (I said that one time WAY back in the day before I ever met him and he heard and is STILL talking about it) so when we saw this painting, we had to get a picture. :) He's a good sport! :)
I'm pointing to our cottage...you can barely see it. The light is the porch. By the way, it's a wrap around porch..my FAVORITE!! Oh, and this picture is at the top of a STEEP driveway!! VERY steep! People without a 4 wheel drive couldn't make it up. :)

Tomorrow is out last day. :( I never want to leave! I told Lamar today that if we had all the money in the world, I could seriously live here 6 months out of the year. It's just heaven to me! Best vacation we've ever had by far! And the most gorgeous!

See ya tomorrow! :)

Oh, one more thing...Macy started her internship at London Elementary today....1st grade. She's going to be the best teacher. Lamar and I prayed for her together this morning. She's doing everything that a regular teacher would do so she's really going to be super comfortable teaching when she's through. She will have the class to herself on Thursday. I am so proud of that girl! She will graduate in December and be a TEACHER! YAY!! I sure hope she lives in Little Rock!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...

Dresser Redo

I've been so bad at blogging in the past few years. I blog so I can remember. I painted a set of chest of drawers a few years ago in our other house and I loved the result. The only problem is I didn't blog about it so I have no record of what I did to it. I have no idea what red paint color I used. I thought I had it written on FB but I have searched and searched and I can't find anywhere where I wrote the paint color so now I have this wonderful red chest of drawers and have no idea what the color is. I didn't want that to happen again so I am making sure that I write about the chest of drawers in our master bedroom that I recently painted.  Here is the piece of furniture before Sorry about me in my robe in the mirror. LOL! I really wanted to lighten this up so I decided I would paint it white. I LOVE white and thought it would be great SO I used this chalk paint that I got at Michael's. I had already used it on my coffee table and thought it would be f...
