Big Dam Bridge

Yesterday morning, Mar and I woke up and did our quiet time together. I started Beth Moore's Believing God last week and love it. Mar has done some of the lessons with me. When he saw I was doing it on Sunday morning, he came in and did it with me. I painted my nails while he read the questions and wrote them in. Then, we watched church online and then headed to the Big Dam Bridge. The trees are SO gorgeous right now!!!
Mar took this picture. Look how gorgeous the trees are! LOVE!
Love walking this bridge with Mar.
Mar hadn't been to the new part of the bridge where it turns right towards the end. I didn't realize that. I have been a few times since they have added that part.
Look how pretty it is with Pinnacle in the background.
Lamar had my camera and was snapping pictures while I was taking with my iPhone.
I wouldn't mind living in that house! :) They have a GREAT view!

My goodness, I love fall trees! I wasn't able to enjoy them this time last year and am so glad I am able to get out and take all the gorgeous tree colors in!
Lamar loves to grab my camera and try to get a good shot.
Mar's taking a picture of me taking a picture! He was so funny trying to get the perfect shot! HA! :)
Here's one of his shots of me taking a picture of him taking a picture. :)
Such a gorgeous red!
Walking back to the car.
Some interesting Big Dam Bridge facts. Who knew there was a cemetery under it?! So interesting!

I'm having LG at my house tonight so I have a lot to do but it's GORGEOUS outside! Sunny and 70 degrees! Tomorrow the low is 27 and there is a freeze warning!! CRAZY! SO, I'm headed for a quick ride in the convertible while it's warm, sunny, and beautiful!
More later!

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Bye Bye 80's kitchen!!

Well, my kitchen is mostly finished!! It's completely painted!! I am so excited to have a brighter updated kitchen.  It just feels completely different.  I'm not completely finished but here's what I've got for now.   The cabinet color is Benjamin Moore Linen White and the walls are Benjamin Moore clay beige. I'm so glad to see the florescent oak square light gone!! I replaced it with chandeliers I got at a flea market!! :) We also hired an electrician to put more canned lighting in because after the florescent square was gone, we needed more lighting. I painted 48 cabinets and drawers and the body of the cabinets (don't know what the official name for that is) and was so burned out by the time I finished the island that my sweet husband suggested we hire a painter to paint the rest for me! I am SOOOO glad he did!!!!  See the faith, truth, love window frame beside the pantry door? Well, my super talented sister-in-law, Sabrin...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
