Marriage is one of the most wonderful things there is but sometimes it can also be really hard, especially if there are no walls up and there are two passionate people involved, like myself and Mar-e-doodle :). One thing I love about Lamar is that when he knows he messes up, he does things like this: I love roses as much as the next girl but when there is Godiva involved, all is forgiven!! :) I remember my mom telling me almost 12 years ago (that's how long Mar and I have been married in May) that one thing she really admired about Lamar is that he was teachable.  She was so right! He really listens and works on himself and our marriage. *There are 2 dozen roses but in this picture, it only looks like there is a dozen. After I showed Mar this picture, he went and counted and there are 2 dozen but for some reason it only looks like 1 dozen in the picture. I'm going to have to take another picture. One dozen is fabulous but Mar got me 2 dozen and deserves credit for ...

New life.....baby birds

A few weeks ago, I woke up a couple of mornings in a row to a scratching type noise that sounded like it was right by our bed.  I kept looking around to see if something was in our room, but there wasn't anything. I just assumed it was something outside the window....well, I was right!! It was a bird making a nest!! It has been so so neat to get to watch the whole process.  A "wink" from God. We literally have a bird's eye view of the whole process. :) Such a pretty nest. 3 pretty blue eggs. Rosy came over last Thursday to have a play date (I took her to Maggie Moo's, too). I loved being able to show her the bird's nest. She loved seeing the mama bird in the tree, too. The very next morning, I looked out the window and 2 of the birds had hatched!!! SO NEAT!!! Look at the mama bird protecting her babies. I don't know what happened to the third egg. It's no longer in the nest but I can't tell if there are 2 or 3 birds yet.  It looks like there is on...

TORNADOES!!!

Last night, we knew we were supposed to have bad weather. We had planned on going to Red Lobster for dinner (we hadn't eaten there in years and love their biscuits). When Mar got home, we tried to plan our dinner based on the weather.  We decided if we went right away, we would get home before the storm hit. Well, we planned it just about perfect..just about.  Right as we were paying our ticket, the sirens started going off.    Ellie was so scared.  She had never in her life heard tornado sirens.  We were laughing because we hear them all the time. None of us were scared.  The only time I'm scared of tornadoes is if I'm not at my actual house or in a different town or part of town.  Our area has never been hit so I'm just not scared. Ellie scared.  I have to admit, the sky did look scary. Fortunately, the wind wasn't blowing yet so I wasn't scared we were going to get blown away. I left my iPhone at home so I grabbed Macy's phone to...

He is Risen!!! Easter Weekend

I took Rosy to Maggie Moo's last Thursday to get some ice cream for her birthday.  We always go there on her birthday but we ran out of time this year so we made up for it on Thursday. While we were eating, I got a call from Marci saying she was coming the next day for Easter!! We were so excited!! Nebraska got rain so they were able to come!! YAY!! It was such a fun surprise!! We always go to mom's when Marci comes and wait for their Suburban to pull up and when it does, we all run and hug them...jumping up and down in a circle.  We love it when they come!!! YAY!! They are here!!! :) Marcifest begins!! :) Mom with all her girls. Ellie also came for Easter!!!  YAY!!! She got here a couple of hours after the Epps did.  In these pictures, I was giving Ellie a "talk" about a guy who is not our pick for her because she's number 2 after another girl!! UM....don't think so!!! In the middle pix, I was telling her to kick his boohiney right on out the door and tell hi...
