Show Us Your Life Home Tours...Kitchen

Here's my kitchen. I redid it this fall. It was a 80's kitchen with oak cabinets, burgundy wallpaper, flourescent lights, etc. It was kind of dark and I wanted a white cheery kitchen. The kitchen was fine before but it was dated and not me at all. Now I feel like the kitchen is totally fits my personality. If you want to see what the kitchen looked like before, click here. I know there's a lot of pictures on here but I didn't know which ones to put on so I just put a lot of them on.
I got the little chandeliers above the island at a flea market.
I couldn't decide if I should paint and distress the wood dome so I put a picture on Facebook and asked everyone. Everybody told me to leave it so I did and I'm glad I did. It's kind of a fun wood dome. I know I have a lot of chandeliers in my kitchen but I love them. They make me feel good when I walk in the kitchen.
Here's our breakfast nook. I have a lot of fun decorating my table for different events. This picture had Christmas balls in the lanterns (which I got at a flea market). I got the placemats from Etsy. I saw them on Pinterest and had to have them! They weren't expensive so that was a plus, too!
And this is decorated for a friend's birthday and Valentine's Day.
This desk used to be burgundy and oak. I love it all white now. Got the little chair at Saver's ($7) and the cushion at Pier 1.
The chairs by the island have been replaced now with little stools. You can see them in the first picture.
My sister-in-law made the Faith, Truth, Love window frame. I LOVE it so much! If you look closely, you can see the polka dots and stripes etched on the glass behind the words.

I put this chalk board up and love to write different things on there for different events.
This are the LOVE verses for Valentine's Day.

This is a messy picture of my kitchen, but I wanted to put my magnet board on here that I got a couple of months ago at a flea market. I love it because it's so unique. I love putting Rosy's artwork on there and special cards from people. I also throw invitations on there, etc. I think it's fun!  You can see my sweet Reg under the table. He makes me laugh every single day!!
So, there's my kitchen!!! I can't wait to look at all of yours! Happy Saturday everybody! ;)

I'd love to know if you sanded, used a primer (which brand?), which roller did you use? I'm about to tackle this DIY project myself and I LOVE the way yours turned out. BTW, I'm a total copy cat...using the same colors and everything. LOL

Fast and Easy Rolo Brownie Bites

Happy Happy Friday, y'all! Some of y'all might know that back in the day I had a baking blog. And, by back in the day, I mean I started it in 2009 and my last post was in 2011. I probably should update it and keep adding to it, but I just don't bake or cook as much anymore now that our nest is empty. But, I did have so much fun with that blog. I would just bake or cook as usual but along the way I would take pictures and blog about the recipes. I still go back to that site and get recipes. I send my kids and friends there when they are wanting a certain recipe, too. It's so easy to just send them a link. I'm all about fast and easy recipes! One of my favorite super easy "go to" recipes are these super yummy and easy brownie bites. I first blogged about these in 2009 here but thought I would add the yummy recipe to this blog, too.  Ingredients: Brownie Mix (I use the Duncan Hines 13x9 family size). Rolo's (they now have them unwrapped) WOOHO...

Show us where you live Friday.....the Kitchen

Most of you probably read Kelly's blog . She is so much fun! Well, she is hosting a "Show us where you Live Friday" and this week is the kitchen edition. I am excited about this because I absolutely LOVE looking at houses and decor....it's so much fun and can really show someones personality. I just love to see how others express themselves through decorating. While I really do love my kitchen, it is the room I am looking forward to redoing the very most. My future plans are to take down the wallpaper and paint, paint the ceiling, redo the cabinets (probably really dark wood), paint the island black, take down the florescent light fixture above the island and replace with something a little more up to date, and replace the curtains. I think the previous owners did a great job decorating it but I would rather it be more my personality. I spend A LOT of time in my kitchen and I really enjoy it!! When my mom and dad moved, they gave me their big round table that seats...
Mar and I didn't go to church this morning. :( We hate to miss. We woke up about 8:30, talked a little bit, prayed a little bit and then the next thing we know, it's 10:30!!! We must have really needed the sleep. We leave for church at 10:40 so there was no way we were going to make it. It felt wonderful to sleep in, though. We can alway watch the service on the Internet. After Rosie got home from church, we went and picked her up and took her to Wendy's to eat (we all really wanted Franke's but it was packed...at 1:45!) and then we headed to Party City where I got plates for Bunco (it's at my house on Thursday) and then we went to Garden Ridge and got a fake plant and a chair (for $99). The chair we were going to get was WAY more than that and a lot prettier but the one at Garden Ridge did the job fine and with no guilt for spending too much money on a beautiful chair. It is SO MUCH FUN to shop with Rosie...SO MUCH FUN!!! I hate to shop without her because she make...
