SHOW US YOUR LIFE....Fashion Tips

It's Show us Your Life Friday and this week the topic is fashion tips. I don't know that I have a lot of tips but I do know the things I like fashion wise. Here they are: DRESSES: I have always loved dresses. They are so much more comfortable than pants/jeans. I wore a dress every single day to school until 6th grade and then I changed schools where we had uniforms, which were skirts, much to my delight! I remember a girl coming up to me in grade school and asking me why I always wore dreses. I also remember getting in trouble for refusing to wear jeans or pants to the skating rink. :) To me, dresses are comfortable and cute. You can't go wrong! SO, I wear lots of dresses in the summer and in the winter I put long sleeve tees and leggings under them with boots (thanks to Kelly's tip). Easy, cute, and most importantly...comfortable!!! I got this dress that I have on at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago. Got this dress at the Holiday House. They had some of the cutest dresse...

My "modeling" experience. :)

When I was in 6th grade I had a small group leader at church that I adored. She worked at Leisure Arts and volunteered me to model for one of their little catalogues on knitting (HA! The irony). Anyway, as an 11 year old, I was ecstatic! My mom took me to the Leisure Arts building where a lady could look at me. I had braces and was a little concerned about that. The lady took one look at me and laughed and said, "SHE has braces!". I wilted. I don't remember what my mom said (I think she probably said, "SO WHAT?!") but I was trying not to cry. The lady then said that she guessed they could use me but that I couldn't smile. :s Well, I did the photo shoot and afterwards that same lady pointed to this beautiful girl in a bathing suit and told me that if I wanted to look like her, I would have to eat right and stay away from sweets (HA! Again, the irony!). It was not a good experience for me and I never did it again. But, here is the picture. You can tell how spe...

One of the many reasons I love my man!

I find little notes to me all over the house on a regular basis....this morning the notes were all Scripture. :) This makes me smile. I love my husband!!!

Here comes the bride! :)

Molly's rehearsal dinner was so sweet. We went to the chapel at Fellowship and after that we headed to the River Market. That rehearsal dinner was so sweet. Molly and Logan have the sweetest friends who love the Lord so much. It was a blessing to be a part of that. The food was great, too!! :) It was catered by Two Sisters and they had the best lasagna I've ever had. Some of Moll's bridesmaids...Meagan, Madeline, Abby, and Allyson. I love Marci's face! :) Molly was about to walk down the aisle. The wedding party. Molly and Logan with their parents. :) I think this is my favorite picture! I just love it! Nothing better than a good laugh! Seriously, I have NEVER seen a couple more in love than these two! They were both glowing! I wasn't the only one who noticed. One thing that was really neat that they did in their wedding was they exchanged purity rings. It was so sweet and SO rare! I've never seen it done before...probably because it's rare for couples to ...

Molly's Bridesmaid's Luncheon

We had Molly's bridemaid's luncheon at my house last Friday. It was so much fun! My aunts have always had bridesmaid's luncheons for us so we decided to carry on the tradition and do the same thing for our nieces. My aunt, Jerry Lu, who is a wedding planner was a HUGE help!! She knew everything!!! My sister, Marci, flew in from Nebraska and we got to work! Marci decided that my mantle was too bare for the shower so while we were in Hobby Lobby, I saw some cute letters that reminded me of the banner Kelly did for Harper for her birthday. I got on her blog on my iPhone and showed Marci and Sabrina the banner she had made. They thought it was so cute so we decided we'd make one. I would have NEVER done it without their wanting to. I didn't think there was any way we could get that done in a couple of hours but we did and it turned out so cute. Of course, all my sisters are super artistic (the gene TOTALLY skipped me)so that didn't hurt. :) Here we are starting our...
