Well, I started on Prednisone on Sunday. As my poison ivy was finally getting better, I started itching all over my torso. At first I thought I was getting poison ivy there but that wasn't the case. I was literally itching 24/7 all over my chest, back, and stomach. The outside of my hands were itching, too. I woke up at 4:30 AM Sunday pretty much panicked about all this and told Lamar that somebody had to help me and that I probably should go to the emergency room. I almost went and woke up my parents at 4:30 in the morning!! This is NOT like me!! I was just so desperate. Nothing was working and I had been itching for almost 3 weeks with poison ivy and then the rash. I ended up taking an oatmeal bath which helped some and then going back to sleep (I had taken 3 Benadryl and still was waking up itching). I called Dad and he answered (he always answers his phone, which I LOVE) even though he was in church. :) I told him how desperate I was so he called one of his dermatologist friend...

Dinner to Duggar's

I had a fun opportunity to help a friend bring dinner to the Duggar's yesterday.  I don't watch the show because we don't have cable so I didn't recognize anyone but I have to say that I was super impressed with how sweet that family is.  They just stand out as being godly people.  The children that I met were SO nice and had the best manners.  I was super impressed!!! I thought we were supposed to bring food to them on Wed. night so I woke up Wed. morning and baked my brownies with Coca-Cola icing and Red Velvet Cake.  I realized later that I had the wrong day and we weren't supposed to bring the food until Thursday.  I was SO tempted by those cakes in my kitchen for 24 hours! :) I also made a US Pizza salad.  I LOVE their salads...I don't even eat dressing with them because they are so good.  I decided it wouldn't be hard to just copy their salad so I bought smoked ham, smoked turkey, a green and red pepper, and shredded mozarella chee...

This and That Picture Post

I made Pioneer Women's Red Velvet Cake last week and it was TO DIE FOR!! It's by far my favorite red velvet cake recipe. The icing is SO good!!! Here Rosy and Hannah are enjoying a piece. :) Two of my very favorite friends, Cal and Tam! LOVE these two! We try to eat lunch together on a regular basis. We see each her A LOT in the summer because we are pool buddies! We're all looking so forward to the pool again. We bring the kids and just talk. It's great girl time! Sabrina made me this great painting!! I love it! The house is made up of sheet music that belonged to my great grandmother. :) That makes it even more special! I'm at my brother's MedSpa in this picture, by the way. Love it! Last Friday, Miriam and Aunt Helen came to visit. Aunt Helen had her teeth worked on. It was a gorgeous day so we went to Panera Bread for lunch and ate outside. For dinner, we went to Capers. It was delicious! I got bacon wrapped shrimp. It was YUMMY!!! Macy and her 1st grade t...
We've got a mama pigeon that built a nest in our gutter. I guess that tells you how bad our gutters need to be cleaned out. Of course, they are not getting cleaned until this mama has her babies. I love getting to see this pigeon every day. ;) Yesterday, I had the whole day free so I went to OBU to visit May May. It was a GORGEOUS day!!! Absolutely beautiful! I would never ever be in my room if I lived there. I would be outside all the time, especially in this weather. We ate at Chick-fil-A outside and then went to a little candy store, Wal-Mart, and the car wash to clean my car. Macy's dorm room. :) Hard to believe she's almost finished with her first year of college!!! That's a big accomplishment!!! I love my sista! We went to Larry's Pizza with a bunch of people today and I ate just about all my calorie allowance in one sitting!! I pigged out and it was SO good!!! Calli and I went walking after that and then I came home and ate a piece of the Pioneer W...

Poison Ivy

I've got poison ivy!! I wasn't ever allergic to the stuff until 2 years ago. I got a tiny little patch of it then and it itched and burned a lot but it was just tiny. Now, I'm getting to experience what poison ivy is all about!! I went walking the other day and saw a lot for sale with a gorgeous view. I, of course, went all up in the lot (it was on a hill with woods behind it) to check it out. I then saw another lot for sale with an even prettier view and walked around it. The next day, I thought I had gotten a mosquito bite on the back of my leg and then the day after that I thought I got another mosquito bite on my shin. Well, turns out it was POISON IVY!!! Well, the rash has spread and it's been no fun. I was starting to get a little better when I decided to scratch the rash yesterday. Lamar was telling me it was fine to scratch it and it wouldn't spread. So, we were in Kroger and I scratched my legs with the rubber soles on my tennis shoes. After that, it's ...

Easter

We went to our Easter service on Saturday night so Sunday morning when we woke up, we were free.  It was so nice.  I love our church service on Sunday morning but I would definitely go to a Saturday night service if they started one. I am and have always been such a night owl.   Here's all the food we brought to mom and dad's house.  Lamar made his delicious homemade bread and as you can see, loaded it down with butter!!! :) As Julia Child said, "There's nothing like butter" and I have to agree! I made a new cake recipe called Maltby Chocolate Cake. It has real whipped cream icing with powdered sugar and vanilla.  I'll put the recipe on my recipe blog later but let's just say it's a vanilla cake mix with pudding in the mix with vanilla and chocolate pudding added, along with chocolate chips, among other things....delicious! I also made my hashbrown casserole and brownies with Coca-Cola icing . That is my favorite icing of all time...you ...
