My Cup Runneth Over

Oh my goodness, I just had to write down the things Rosie said tonight because she is just so unbelievably cute and precious! Okay, first of all, we went upstairs for her to dance in the dance/exercise room that is almost finished. I was talking about how I need to vacuum the stairs because there are little pieces of insulation on the stairs. Then, Mar and Rosie danced and played in the room. Well, I went downstairs for a few minutes to load some pictures on the computer. Rosie followed a few minutes later and walked up to me with little pieces of insulation in her hand and said, "Hadoo, I picked these up off the stairs because I know you want it clean". Okay, she is 3 YEARS OLD and thinking about my feelings. I felt SO good!!! I told her how precious she was and to give me a big hug. Then she told me she did the best job she could and that next time she would pick even more up!!! I don't have one clean person in my house...not even one so this was a new and wonderful fe...

Go Tigers!!!

Macy is LOVING Ouachita!! I knew she would. I am so impressed with that school. Everyone from the students to the staff are all super nice. We moved Macy in last Saturday. Actually, I should say the students moved Macy in on Saturday. We got to Ouachita around 8:45 in the morning. We waited in a long line of cars but the line moved fast. The students were on top of things...they asked us Macy's name and gave us directions where to go. We parked our car and I'm not exaggerating when I say that those students had her stuff out of our car within 3 minutes and her stuff moved into her room within 5 minutes. I couldn't believe it! Everyone went out of their way to help everyone else and it was just wonderful! I feel SO good about Macy being there. Here's Macy's dorm....Frances Crawford. Macy and her roommate, Courtney. She is a really sweet girl. Macy loves her and they get along great!! Ouachita put them together and did a great job! I've heard that they really pray...

My chick is leaving the nest

Today has been a GORGEOUS day!!! It has been sunny and breezy....perfect weather. We drove in the convertible and just took in the beautiful weather. We've been busy, busy, busy! Macy leaves tomorrow for Ouachita. I am sad she won't be here all the time but at the same time, I am so excited for her because I know she is going to love it and she's only an hour away....anytime she wants to come home or I want to go there, we'll just hop in the car and go. I asked Macy what she wanted me to cook for her last meal at home (for awhile anyway) and she chose poppyseed chicken (of course) and hashbrown casserole. You can't go wrong with lots of butter, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream!!! :) Here we are...Mar cut up the chicken for the poppyseed while I made the hasbrown casserole. I have discovered in the last couple of years that cooking is not near as bad when you do it with someone you love. When Mar and I cook, it's almost always together. And for dessert.......
Updating 2 days in a row...must be a record for me on here. :) Macy and I just got back from Ghengi's Grill (I don't know if I spelled that right). We met my friend, Belinda, there. Belinda has a major crush on Chris Tomlin and wanted to hear all about the benefit concert last week...... Macy got to meet him, got her picture with him, and got an autographed picture. When she found out how much Belinda loved him, she wanted to give her the picture. Macy's got such a sweet heart. Belinda missed the concert because she was in Florida. She was sick over it. So, we went to eat with her and told her every detail we could remember about the concert, which was GREAT by the way. It was such a blessing. It was so personable because it was at our church and a smaller setting. Anyway, here's the picture. Macy and her friends snuck into the meet and greet and stood in line to meet him. All the other people had special stickers on to allow them back. Macy said that Chris was so nice ...
Macy and I have been shopping, shopping, shopping for college stuff. I didn't realize how much stuff she would need and how expensive it would get...wow, little things add up. She has needed everything from band-aids to bedding. She's done more laundry in the past few days than she's done in the entire 3 years that we've lived here. :) She is organizing, cleaning, and packing. I'm going to really miss her!!! She leaves on Saturday. :( I am just SO thankful that she's only an hour away and I know she's going to LOVE LOVE LOVE Ouachita!!! Macy's friend, Chris, came shopping with us on Saturday. Macy and Chris had just dropped one of their best friends off at college and they were both sad so we went college shopping for almost 5 hours! :) I could literally probably spend an entire day in Wal-Mart. Here May May and Chris are hula-hooping in Wal-Mart. :) Sweet friends. I babysat Rosie today before she went to meet her teachers at school. It was so sad becaus...

Show us your Life (Favorite Vacation)

Today's topic over at Kelly's Korner on Show us your Life is favorite vacations. I'll be looking at everyone's vacations because I just love finding out about new places to go. My favorite vacations always involve the beach...here are my favorites. Back in 2005, Mar and I went to St. Thomas/St. John. It was GORGEOUS!!! We stayed at the Ritz in St. Charles and would go over to St. John (15 min. boat ride) for the day. It was just so so beautiful there. People drive on the other side of the road there so that took some getting used to. I didn't drive the whole time. This was the view from our room. It was like waking up in heaven every morning. This was Mar's favorite vacations of all of ours...he still talks about going back. The next year we went to Grand Cayman Islands. The water there was SO clear!!! We took a boatride out to Stingray City and played with the stingrays. There was a sandbar out in the middle of the ocean where all the stingrays would come. It...
