9-27-07 It's rare that you get the opportunity to paint whatever you want on the living room wall but I've been sampling colors so I got to have a little bit of fun. I got to write a little note to Lamar on the wall. He loved it!!! 10-11-07 I typed that paragraph a couple of weeks ago and forgot about it. We FINALLY painted the whole living room last night after putting it off and putting it off. :) I love it! Next step...painting the trim and mantle white. I'm going to like it so much more when that's done...it's going to be so much brighter! It's a gorgeous day out today! I mean beautiful! The sun is shining and it feels wonderful. We're going to go over to mom and dad's and take pictures of our car to sell. I'm a little sad and also glad at the same time. I LOVE having a convertible and will miss that but I feel like we're not being good stewards of our money having that car when we don't need it. We went to Cannon's football game las...
We are back from the beach.....ahhhhh....what a wonderful vacation! It was so relaxing. We just laid on the beach and didn't worry about a thing. We went to bed when we wanted (which was usually pretty early) and woke up just whenever. I didn't have the computer so I didn't get online all week. We didn't think about work or anything else that may have been stressful. It was just so wonderful! The weather was beautiful. It was so much cooler this time of year....this could have been because of the hurricane that we didn't know about until we were on our way home. :) It was so breezy. It was hard to leave but wonderful to come back and see my family. Rosie ran into my arms which made me feel overjoyed. I found her the perfect present....a purple umbrella with feathers around it. Rosie has been fascinated with umbrellas for a long time. Umbrella was one of her very first words and one of her favorite things to do is go out and look at our porch umbrellas. :) I'm go...
Guess where we're going tomorrow??? THE BEACH!!!! YEA!!! I am so excited! I have been away from the beach for far too long....and we're going to my favorite beach....Orange Beach....and staying in my favorite place... SeaChase . They have been closed down for almost 3 years from hurricane damage. I love Orange Beach because there is an outlet mall 30 minutes away and there is a grocery store right across the street from our condo. Also, the sand is white and it's not real crowded. I cannot wait to see the ocean! When I look at the ocean and see nothing but water for as far as I can see and beautiful waves, I think of God and His power. There is just something about the ocean that makes me feel Him more. I cannot wait! Lynda Elliot's class was this morning. It was so good! I love her classes. This one is on how to become a resilient person......basically, how to bounce back after a crises. She told us to do a blessing journal each night and write down 10 things that we ...
I love this picture! It's Macy and her friends on their mission trip this summer. I've had poison ivy for a week now. It's getting better but man oh man, did I ever wake up itching last night!!! I've never had this in my whole life. It's weird that I'm getting now after a whole lifetime of being exposed and never getting it. I also have a tooth that needs a root canal. :) Trey and Gail just left to go float the Buffalo. They'll be back on Friday. Macy starts school Thursday! Where did the summer go? I am so proud of my baby girl! She's on fire for the Lord which is so exciting. Her school schedule is crazy this fall! She is taking Anatomy, Pre AP Chemistry, and Calculus along with a few other classes. What is she thinking?! She can certainly do it, though, and she knows it and her Senior year will be a breeze since she's getting everything out of the way. Ellie started high school on Monday and Kathryn moved to Lafayette. She was so excited! R...
I just talked to Macy on the phone and she was so excited. She said, "Guess what, Mama?!". I said, "what" and she said, "I led a person to Christ today!". She was so excited! It sure does feel good to have a child who loves the Lord. I am so thankful for that! She has been working in Upward Basketball all week and led a 10 year old boy to the Lord today. I was so happy about that and really overjoyed that she was so excited! Gotta go work the front desk. I love y'all!!!
I just read this on Abby's facebook and thought it was so sweet. These are my parents (her grandparents) and my dad is an awesome husband and adores my mom! I am so thankful that he has been my role model for what a husband should be. I married someone just like him which thrills me!!! *The Love I Want!*Share 8:34pm Saturday, Jun 30 My Nana and Poppy! Yesterday while nana and poppy were gone my aunt Heather found this scrap book that my nana had made of all of poppy's card's that he had gotten her over the years. And oh my goodness!!! It was the sweetest thing, nobody could read these precious letters without crying at least a LITTLE! I also went wedding dress shopping with Christina today..(she found the one!) So I'm thinking about love. But ya..Poppy wrote the sweetest notes to my nana! The ones that were the most meaningful were the most recent ones because he talked about how love grows over time. Love is what happens after all the fuzzy feelings are gone and that u...

My precious May

This morning I woke up and noticed our telephone blinking which means we had a message. I knew there wasn't a message when we went to sleep so figured either someone called really early in the morning or late at night. We keep our ringer off in our bedroom because we have been awakened too many Saturday mornings bright and early. :) Anyway, when I listened, it was May. She was so sweet and said she had come to some realizations on her mission trip and wanted to apologize for being negative lately and told me how much she loved me. She said lots more, too. Then I got a text message from her this morning that was so sweet. I ended up calling her and have been really on a high about her ever since. God is just so good! Macy could have been such a messed up child and just through God's grace, she is amazing girl who loves the Lord and has a great head on her shoulders. I am so proud of my 16 year old daughter. She has been wise beyond her years many times in life and I just...
